Not many people realize the fact that there are certain healthy alternatives accessible out there instead of potato crisps. Soy crisps are by far more healthier and an excellent choice and can be substituted for potato chips because they taste almost the same and appearance wise look the same as well. You will not feel any difference in texture at all but you will be amazed to know that these crisps are made of soy flour.

As compared to potato chips, soy chips are a healthy and an excellent snacking choice. They contain very low amount of calories and the amount of fat is also very minimal. The low fat content makes them a superior choice as compared to potato crisp. Its important for you to keep your intake of saturated fat very low because increased amount of saturated fat in your diet can lead to health risks like heart diseases.

On the other hand, unsaturated fats are good for you as they keep your heart in good shape and your cholesterol also remains stable. It all depends on how familiar you are with the nutritional information about soy chips because if you become aware how healthy they are you would happily substitute them for potato chips. Besides that, you must eat everything in a sensible quantity because consumption of any particular food in excessive amounts in never healthy for you.

Even if soy chips are healthy, it doesn't mean you should consume them as much as you want. Still, you should limit the amount of crisps you consume on a weekly or daily basis in order to avoid health problems that you may contract later in your life. Whatever you consume is shown the way you physically appear.

A little disadvantage associated with soy chips is that their sodium content is very high and consumption of sodium in high amounts is not healthy at all. Keep an eye on your sodium intake because excess may lead to blood pressure problem and other health issues may rise as well.

They do taste yummy and can be eaten on their own or with some dips like guacamole, salsa dip, yogurt dip or any other sauce of your choice. You could buy them from the market or make these dips at home all by yourself. These dips not only add more taste but they are nutritious as well especially if they are homemade.

There is a good range of choice with regards to the available flavors. From hot to mild, tangy to cheesy different flavors are readily available. Other than that, there is a good range of brands that manufacture these chips. So you can easily purchase them from anywhere and in any flavor you desire.

People are getting more conscious these days to eat healthy and they prefer the same pattern to be followed by their family as well. It is a good approach to alternate healthy substitutes instead of unhealthy ones. So, you can offer your kids these chips as a healthy choice and keep them away from consuming unhealthy potato chips.
