Find Out What You Can Do To Stop Or Prevent Controlling Urinary Incontinence

By Olivia Cross

Weak muscles around the bladder cause uncontrolled urine leaks among many women across the world. Some of them find it hard to talk about the problem because they consider it embarrassing. Your muscles are unable to control the release of urine from the bladder so the leak can occur at any time even in public places. To avoid being affected by such a problem, you should visit doctors who give you advice about controlling urinary incontinence.

It is important to know that this condition could either be persistent or temporary. This condition is termed temporary when certain foods, drinks and medications appear to be diuretics that stimulate the increase of urine in your bladder. Some of these diuretic products may include corn syrup, carbonated drinks, caffeine, tea, artificial sweeteners, blood pressure medications, muscle relaxants, sedatives and acidic foods.

Many people do not realize that this problem can actually be caused by childbirth. Most women experience the problem exactly after child birth. This is normally when a woman has undergone normal delivery through the vagina. It is common knowledge that this type of birth can normally weaken the bladder muscles. It may occur when the small intestines, bladder, uterus and/or rectum are pushed down during childbirth.

As you grow old, the body muscles also age and become weak. This is another major cause of this problem which can also affect men. No one can prevent themselves from aging and the effects that come with it. If your muscles weaken, you cannot reverse the situation. All you can do is accept the situation and try to learn ways that you can reduce the effects of the condition.

Many people do not know that the neurological disorders could easily cause this problem among the victims. In fact, people with any of the neurological disorder will not realize when their urine is coming out due to the impaired impulse passage throughout the organs that regulate urine formation and flow. Some of these disorders includes spinal injury, brain tumor, stoke, Parkinsons disease and multiple sclerosis among others.

Doctors often advise people who are experiencing this kind of a problem to seek medical attention. They try and make sure that that such a person realizes that they can be able to prevent or even control the problem in this case through the use of daily pelvic exercises. These will help you to strengthen your bladder and pelvic muscles.

Reducing your body weight is very effective in preventing this condition. Excessive weight around the abdomen and in the pelvic region exerts more pressure on the muscles around this region. This could weaken them leading to the disease.

Finally, your doctor may also recommend that you avoid heavy intake of caffeine and alcohol. They also recommend that you avoid lifting heavy objects and treat constipation immediately. You need also to know that eating the right foods and drinking plenty of clean water is a sure way of preventing this condition from aggravating.
